French fries in the oven are an exceptionally tasty and very popular snack. French fries can be easily prepared at home. It is very tasty and comes out perfectly crispy.

- Wash 1 kg of potatoes and peel them. I had 8 medium sized potatoes. Cut each potato lengthwise into slices 1,5-2 cm thick, and then into strips.
Place the fries in a bowl of cold water and rinse. Pour the water back into the bowl and rinse the potato sticks again. I usually rinse them 3-4 times until the water runs clear. When the water is no longer cloudy (there is no potato starch floating in it), pour very cold water into the bowl with the potatoes. Also pour 1 tbsp. l. powdered sugar and mix the potatoes with sugar water for a while. Set the bowl aside for about 40 minutes.
Advice: wash the potatoes thoroughly to get rid of the top layer of starch. Thanks to this, the fries will be very crispy on the outside. Sugar (sucrose) in water will make the fries more beautiful, and the effect of the crispy crust will be even better.
Start preheating the oven. Set the temperature to 220 degrees with the function of baking up and down. Place the potatoes in a large bowl. Pour 2 tbsp. l. oil for frying and add spices: 0,5 tsp. salt, Provencal herbs and sweet pepper. However, you can add just salt or use another favorite spice mix. “Mix” the potatoes with the spices very thoroughly. Cover the tray with baking paper. Put potato sticks covered with fat and spices on top. Arrange the fries so that they do not touch each other.
Baked French fries can be taken out of the oven immediately and served while still hot.
