Baked macaroni with sausage – a recipe for cooking the dish.

Today I offer you incomparable pasta with smoked sausage under a delicate Bechamel sauce. Sausage can be replaced with any smoked sausage. Pasta in this recipe should be short. For baking, I used two 370 ml soup bowls. If you do not have such small molds, simply prepare this dish in a large ovenproof dish, increasing the number of ingredients.

Ingredients:
sausage – 2 pcs. (60 g);
short pasta (for example, small shells, thin spirals, etc.) – 200 g;
tomatoes – 100 g;
onion – 1 pc.;
cheese – 150 g;
vegetable oil – 1 tablespoon;
salt, ground black pepper – to taste.

For the Bechamel sauce:
milk – 300 ml;
butter – 30 g;
flour – 1,5 tablespoons;
salt, ground black pepper – to taste.

We start preparing the dish.

Boil the pasta according to the instructions until al dente (a little undercooked). Drain the water. Set the macaroni aside for now.

Grate the cheese on a fine grater, put it in the refrigerator. Peel the spring onion, finely chop. Remove the skin from the tomatoes, finely chop. It is easiest to remove the skin from tomatoes by making a small cut in the middle with a knife and immersing the vegetable in boiling water for 1 minute. Then immerse the tomato in ice water. The skin will come off very easily. Cut the sausage into rings.

In a frying pan, fry the onion in vegetable oil on medium/low heat until transparent. Add tomatoes, fry for another 3 minutes.

Add smoked sausage, fry for another 3-5 minutes.

Prepare Bechamel sauce. Melt the butter, stir the flour with the butter. Then pour milk in a thin trickle and cook until thickened, stirring constantly so that lumps do not form. You can see the details of cooking with step-by-step photos of Bechamel sauce here. It should have the consistency of sour cream. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.

We collect the dish. Put 2 tablespoons of pasta in an ovenproof dish. If you are using one large pan, you need to grease it with a little oil.

Pour Béchamel sauce over pasta (also 2 tablespoons each).

Put fried onions with tomatoes and sausage on top.

Spread the remaining sauce.

Sprinkle with finely grated cheese. Put the forms in the oven. Bake (without covering) at a temperature of 180 degrees until golden brown for 20 minutes.

Serve the dish while still warm directly in the pots.
