Beef in the oven. How to cook beef.

Beef baked in foil with potatoes is a great dish both for a holiday and for everyday life. The undeniable advantage of the dish is its naturalness and diet. This dish is easy to prepare and does not require an hour of standing at the stove. It takes about 15 minutes to prepare the ingredients, the rest of the time the oven will work for you.

beef – 300 g;
potato – 2 pc.;
zucchini – 100 g;
kohlrabi – 100 g;
tomato or cucumber – 1 pc.;
onion – 1 pc.;
garlic – 1 clove;
vegetable oil – 2 teaspoons;
salt, pepper, spices – to taste.

Cooking beef in the oven.

First, prepare the necessary ingredients.

The basis of the dish is meat. It is worth paying special attention to the choice of meat – it is better to use young veal or beef for cooking. This dish is especially delicious if the meat has not been frozen. I like meat with veins, so I take pieces from the ribs.

Meat should be cut into plates 1-2 cm thick, 15-20 cm long, 5-7 cm wide. The plates should be such that it is convenient to wrap the filling in a roll.

The second equally important component of the dish is potatoes. We will need 2 small potatoes for two servings. They need to be washed and peeled.

Carrots should also be washed and cleaned. 2 small carrot will be enough for 1 servings.

Onions add piquancy to the taste. I use 1 onion per two servings, but if you’re not a fan of onions, you can reduce the amount. The onion must be peeled.

Kohlrabi is not a mandatory component of the dish, but it gives a special delicacy to the filling. Due to the large amount of useful substances contained in this vegetable and its low calorie content, using it as a filling component will significantly reduce the energy consumption of the dish and increase its dietary properties.

Zucchini can also be used if desired.

Be sure to prepare a clove of garlic – without it, the dish will be tasteless and tasteless.

For dietary purposes, it is recommended to use more vegetables and less potatoes, as they contain a lot of carbohydrates.

Cleaned and washed components of dishes look like in the photo. They need to be washed again and cut.

Potatoes and kohlrabi are cut into strips, it is better to cut zucchini into cubes, and grate carrots on a coarse grater. The onion looks good cut into half rings, but for those who are not a fan of this product, you can cut it finely. Garlic should also be finely crushed or crushed.

The next stage of preparation is very important – you need to put the ingredients correctly in the foil. Cut off such a piece of foil that you can completely wrap the roll in it.

Place a piece of meat in the middle of the foil, sprinkle with salt, pepper and spices to taste. Place potatoes on top of one half.

Sprinkle carrots and onions on top. If kohlrabi and zucchini are available, add a few straws and cubes.

Sprinkle the filling with salt, pepper and spices, sprinkle with vegetable oil.

After that, carefully wrap the second half of the meat so that it turns out a roll. If you want, you can also put vegetables around it – that way you will have more side dishes.

We wrap the foil so that the juice does not flow, then we wrap it one more time for fidelity. As a result, small foil briquettes are obtained.

We put them on a baking sheet or on a grid and place them in a heated oven.

Set to 150 degrees with lower and upper heating and cook for 1 hour. If the portions are larger, you can increase the power to 200 degrees, and the cooking time to 1,5 hours.

At the end of the cooking time, take the dish out of the oven and carefully open the foil to see if the vegetables are cooked. The main mistake when preparing a dish is what we get without checking for doneness. In fact, depending on the types of vegetables, the amount of filling, and the volume of the portion, the cooking time may vary.

In the finished dish, potatoes should be slightly boiled, but do not confuse them with other vegetables – kohlrabi is almost never boiled, it is denser in structure. Carefully put the finished dish on a plate and decorate it with greens, tomatoes or cucumbers.

Beef cooked in foil can become an everyday dish and decorate a festive table.
