Preparation of cheese pie with onions: To bake this pie, I use a shallow dish with a diameter of 28 cm. According to this recipe, the cheese pie turns out tasty and juicy. The main thing here is not to “overdo it” with salt, since the cheese in the filling is salty by itself. Therefore, salting should be done carefully, or no salt should be added at all.
Grind the softened butter well with flour.
Add water and knead a stiff dough.
Wrap the dough in cling film and put it in the fridge for 1 hour.
On a floured surface, roll out the dough in a circle. The size of the rolled dough should be slightly larger than the size of the form. Put the dough in a form and form the sides. Then make punctures in the dough with a fork for steam to escape. Put the mold with the dough in an oven heated to 200 °C and bake for 10-15 minutes.
Peel the onion, cut into cubes and fry in olive oil until golden and add a little salt (if desired).
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
Put cheese, fried onion and paprika in a bowl, mix everything.
Beat the eggs with a mixer, add nutmeg and cream.
Next, pour the milk and beat everything with a mixer.
Put cheese and onion on the semi-finished cake.
Then pour the egg-milk mixture over the cheese. Place the cake pan in an oven heated to 220 °C and bake for 20-25 minutes.
