Chicken in kefir – we prepare it for dinner in the oven.
This simple and fairly quick recipe for incredibly tasty chicken in kefir, which we bake in the oven, has been known to me since my early youth. At that time, it was very popular, but later it was supplanted by newer and more fashionable ways of baking poultry. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that I remind you of it and strongly recommend baking such a wonderful chicken.
Pre-pickling in kefir gives it excellent juiciness and tenderness. The dish tastes great and has a beautiful ruddy, crispy crust. Despite its availability and simplicity, such a dish can take pride of place on any festive table.
Ingredients:
1 medium chicken (1,3-1,5 kg);
350-450 ml of kefir;
salt, spices to taste;
100 ml of spicy adjika;
2 bell peppers;
1 head of garlic.
We cook chicken in kefir in the oven.
Wash the chicken under running water. Cut off all excess, cut into portions and dry with a paper towel.
Mix kefir with adjika, salt, pepper, and your favorite seasonings.
We pour the chicken. We leave it like this for marinating for several hours, or better overnight in the refrigerator.
Line a baking dish with foil or baking paper, lay out the bird and add a little kefir to the marinade. We put it in an oven preheated to 190 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
Then we spread between the pieces the bell pepper, which we cut coarsely, and slices of garlic (I use unpeeled, only the upper husk is removed). Lightly sprinkle with marinade and cook again in the oven.
Another 30-35 minutes until soft, completely ready and beautifully browned.
