Dandelion jam. How to cook What is the use of this jam?

The time of dandelions has come and many people perceive them as ordinary weeds, without thinking about how much they are useful. Pollen alone contains a large part of chemical elements. Every part of this plant, if properly prepared, will bring great benefits to many human organs. I think the most enjoyable use of dandelions is jam. It is both useful and a delight for those with a sweet tooth.

Another obvious advantage of this jam is the speed and simplicity of its preparation.

The process of making jam from dandelion.

Soak 300 flowers with heads for a day. Then we put it on fire. They should boil for 10 minutes.

While the jam is boiling, cut off the very petals of 100 other flowers and put them in a bowl. It is better to cut with scissors.

When the heads have boiled for the required time, we strain our broth. Throw away the dandelions, and put the broth on. We fall asleep our petals.

Until our future jam boils again, we cut a lemon and an orange. You also need to get rid of their bones.

When the jam boils, we send lemon and orange there. Reduce the heat and cook, stirring, for another 10-15 minutes.

Then we get citrus slices. Add sugar and continue to cook while stirring. If you want to close this jam for the winter, it is better to take about 1,5 kg of sugar.

You can cook this jam for three days for 10-15 minutes, or you can leave it to boil for 40 minutes and remove it. It’s just that in the latter case, less useful substances will remain. We wait until it cools down and pour it into glasses or small jars. I got 1 liter of jam. If you cook more, the jam will be smaller, of course, but it will be thicker.

You can completely strain the decoction and not leave any petals in it. Then this jam will resemble honey both in taste and in appearance. If you cook it with green flower buds, the color will be much darker, similar to natural buckwheat honey. And on the condition that only yellow petals go into it, the jam-honey turns out to be light and golden.

The cost of jam is very attractive. To reduce it even more, you can use half a teaspoon of citric acid instead of citrus fruits.
