French fries in a slow cooker – a recipe with a photo
I think that many people like such a dish as french fries. Such potatoes are used as a side dish for meat or fish dishes, and for a barbecue in nature – exactly that. It is used hot, as it loses its taste when cooled. With the advent of fast food chains, this dish has become even more accessible.
Of course, many people know that it is quite harmful and not so much because of its caloric content, but because of the method of preparation. But sometimes you still want to treat yourself to such potatoes. So let’s minimize its damage and prepare it at home. And, even if you don’t have a deep fryer, a slow cooker will do just fine.
Ingredients:
potatoes – 800 g;
oil (for frying) – 1 liter;
salt with spices – to taste.

The process of cooking french fries.
Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into cubes. To begin with, we cut the tuber into plates about 1 cm thick, and then – lengthwise into bars, so that in the cut they turn out to be 1×1 cm. Try to cut the same bars, since this will depend on the uniformity of roasting.
Pour cold water into a deep plate and put the potatoes there. This must be done in order to remove excess starch, then the potatoes will not crumble during cooking and will keep their shape better.
Pour vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl. It should be high enough to hide the submerged potatoes. Then we connect the multicooker to the network and set the “Frying” mode, the oil is heated for about 15 minutes. You can check the heating of the fryer in the following way: drop one potato block into the oil, if it hisses and bubbles, it means that the oil has heated up and you can start frying.
After the potatoes have been in the water, they must be dried with a towel or first put on a sieve, and then put on a napkin. The better you dry the potatoes, the hotter they will be. And the oil will sizzle and splash less.
We put a portion of potatoes in a special mesh and lower it into a bowl. Potatoes are cooked for 15 minutes, so you can set a timer on your phone and prepare the next portion during this time.
Put the fried potatoes on a sieve where a lot of fat drains, and then on a napkin so that it absorbs the remaining fat.
At this time, the French fries are salted and sprinkled with spices.
We serve ready potatoes on serving plates or on a common dish with ketchup and sauces.
