French-style meat in the oven – a recipe for cooking a dish.

French-style meat with potatoes and mushrooms in the oven is a very famous dish in our country. Its main components are meat, onions, mushrooms, cheese and sauce. It was first prepared in Paris for a Russian count, which is where the famous name came from, but you can often hear about potato casserole, which is also known among many people.

French-style meat is prepared simply, there is no need to mess with the preparation, just cut the ingredients, put them in layers and put them in the oven. An ideal option for a large family.

Ingredients:
chicken, pork or beef meat – 500 g;
potatoes – 4-5 pcs.;
onion – 3-4 pcs.;
champignon mushrooms – 200 g;
tomatoes – 3-4 pcs.;
cheese – 200 g (cheddar type);
sour cream – 100 g;
egg – 3 pc.;
Provencal herbs – spices;
sea ​​salt;
black pepper;
olive oil.

We cook meat in the French style with potatoes and mushrooms.

First of all, turn on the oven at 180-200 degrees and let it heat up. Wash and clean all the ingredients. Take a deep tray or baking dish, grease it with olive oil and place it next to the cutting board. My leaf is quite large, if you have much less, reduce the amount of all ingredients by 2 times. Now we begin to cut and lay out the products in layers.

We start with chicken fillet. Cut into thin long strips about 0,5 cm thick. All the following products will be cut to the same thickness. Spread evenly in one layer on the bottom of the mold. Salt, pepper, sprinkle with Provencal herbs.

The next layer is potatoes. Cut into circles and put the chicken on top. A little salt, pepper and seasoning.

Cut the champignons into plates, spread evenly in the third layer. Season again.

Cut the tomatoes into circles. Spread and season.

Of course, we also cut the onion into circles, lay it out again and season it again.

Grate hard cheese on a coarse grater. It is not necessary to use the most expensive cheese.

Prepare the sauce. The classic recipe uses Béchamel sauce, which you can prepare quickly. But this time I just beat the eggs and added sour cream, it was also very tasty.

Beat the resulting mixture well.

Sprinkle the prepared layers with a good layer of cheese and pour the egg-sour cream mixture or bechamel sauce.

Put in a preheated oven for 30-40 minutes. If by this time the cheese has not been baked to a ruddy crust, turn on the grill and cook for another 7-10 minutes. Be sure to follow the process so that the blush does not turn into a coal. If your oven does not have a grill, just turn it on to the maximum temperature and cook for about the same time until a golden crust forms.

French-style meat with potatoes and mushrooms in the oven or potato casserole are ready!

Cut it into equal pieces and arrange on plates.
