Grouse s nest holiday salad – recipe with photo.

The Grouse’s Nest salad can be a decoration of any festive table. You do not need any special ingredients for its preparation, it is attractive in its design. A lot of time is spent on its preparation, but it deserves it.

Ingredients:
chicken fillet – 350 g;
eggs – 4 pcs.;
potatoes – 2 pcs.;
onion – 1 pc.;
salted or pickled cucumbers – 1 pc.;
hard cheese – 100 g;
mayonnaise – 120 g;
sour cream – 150 g;
oil (for frying) – 1 cup;
mustard – 0,3 teaspoon;
garlic – 1 clove;
walnuts – 20 g;
salt, spices – to taste;
greens – for decoration.

Salad preparation process.

First, let’s prepare the ingredients for the salad. Wash the meat, salt it, sprinkle it with spices and put it in a steamer to cook. Boil eggs, cool.

Wash and peel the potatoes. Pour oil into a deep frying pan and put it on medium heat. When the oil heats up, we will gradually grate the potatoes and deep-fry them. Potatoes should be added in small portions so that they do not stick together too much. You can grate the potatoes on different graters to make the “nest” look more interesting.

After frying, put the potatoes on a napkin to drain excess fat. At the same moment, you can add salt.

Prepare other ingredients.

Finely chop the onion and pour boiling water, adding half a teaspoon of vinegar, to remove bitterness and add piquancy. But, this is a matter of taste.

Mix sour cream with mustard, and then add 100 g of mayonnaise. The sauce for our salad turned out.

Cut the finished and cooled chicken across the fibers, and then separate it along the fibers.

Cucumbers are cut lengthwise into plates, and then into thin strips. Place in a sieve to drain excess liquid.

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Before that, you can put it in the freezer for 5 minutes, in this case it will be more convenient to rub it.

Clean the cooled eggs, separate the yolks from the whites. Grate the proteins on a medium grater.

We begin to collect our salad. To do this, lay out the first layer – chicken fillet – in the form of a circle on a large dish.

Next, we lay out the onion, having previously squeezed it from the liquid. Lubricate with mayonnaise sauce.

The next layer is fried potatoes. We use about 1/4 of the potatoes per layer.

The next layer is sliced ​​cucumbers.

Spread the egg white on the cucumbers and coat it with our sauce. We distribute most of the protein in a circle, and in the center with a thin layer.

Then we spread the cheese. And again, the main mass of it will go to the extreme part, and in the middle we should have a hole where the “eggs” will be located.

For eggs, knead the yolks with a fork. Squeeze the garlic. We add walnuts chopped in a blender (not very small), as they will give us “spots” on the testicles. Add the remaining 20 g of mayonnaise and mix everything well. The mass should not be liquid so that the molded testicles keep their shape.

If desired, finely chopped dill greens can be added to this mixture.

The final stage is decoration. We spread fried potatoes around the salad, line the middle with greens and lay eggs in it.

Our grouse’s nest salad is ready.
