Homemade potatoes, in the oven, and with lard and garlic – what could be better! The aromas alone are drooling! I haven’t baked potatoes in the oven for a long time. And recently, my godmothers came to my house, so that I wouldn’t have to stand at the stove for a long time, I made such a simple version of homemade potatoes. We could hardly wait for the finale, so everything was permeated with the smell of fried lard and garlic.

I put one large potato per person, so we didn’t have enough. Therefore, if you prepare such potatoes, expect that people will demand supplements.

— potatoes — 1 piece per person (not enough);
– lard – 30 g per 1 potato;
– garlic;
– spices.

What we need is to prepare lard and potatoes.

Wash the potatoes well, because we will not remove the skin after baking. We cut the potato lengthwise into several slices, only not making the cuts all the way to the end. Rub each cut with garlic for flavor.

We take lard, preferably salted. Cut it into slices, the width of the cut of the potato.

We start our potatoes. Spread each piece of potato with a piece of lard.

We put our potatoes on a baking sheet, as the lard will fry and drain. I do not recommend cooking such potatoes on the grill.

We send the dish to bake. We put it in the oven at 200 degrees and wait until the potatoes are baked. A couple of minutes before it is ready, you can sprinkle it with aromatic herbs to enhance the taste of the final result.

We serve the potatoes hot, you can with different sauces, sprinkled with green onions.
