How to cook mashed potatoes. Recipe with milk and butter
potatoes – 1 kg;
milk – 85 ml;
butter – 50 g;
spices: 0,5 tsp. salt, a pinch of pepper and nutmeg.
I offer you a recipe for the simplest homemade puree with butter and milk. It can be served as a separate hot dish or as a delicious addition to dinner.
The process of making mashed potatoes.
- Wash the peeled and chopped potatoes and pour them into a pan with cold salted water. Boil the potatoes until ready. Cooked potatoes should not fall apart on their own. It took me 15 minutes.
Advice: instead of milk, you can use the same amount of 30% fat cream. Or you can add a little milk and cream to make about 1/3 cup of liquid.
What else can be added to mashed potatoes?
– cream cheese, grated Parmesan or other cheeses, such as: Pecorino Romano, or Parmesan Reggiano, or Cheddar cheese;
— fried slices or pieces of thinly sliced ​​bacon;
— a clove of garlic, pressed through a press and slightly heated with oil;
— freshly ground herbs: parsley, thyme;
– some chili pepper.
