How to make a New Year s cake
I would not say that the ingredients of this recipe are so readily available. And they are controversial. Why is cane sugar necessary? Beetroot was always better. And instead of brandy, I would use cognac or the same rum with which dried fruits are also soaked. Cognac has a much thinner aroma. Ginger powder and cinnamon are quite affordable. But where is candied ginger sold? I have not even heard of such a thing. I prefer recipes with simpler ingredients. And the cake is beautifully decorated.
Of course, I didn’t get such a beautiful cupcake as in the photo, since I don’t know how to work with mastic yet, but it tastes really good. My family ate it in half an hour. The only thing is that cane sugar is expensive for me, I replaced it with regular sugar. And she replaced the dried fruits with raisins and nuts. It turned out perfect.
