These meatballs with cheese and carrots can be a wonderful hearty lunch with any side dish.
I don’t know many minced meat dishes, but there are those that have settled in the hearts of my loved ones for a long time. One of these dishes is alternative meatballs – meatballs.
The specialty of the dish is cheese. I tried to add a different one. Started from the beginning. But I did not like the elasticity of the balls. Then she tried smoked cheeses. They gave a characteristic taste to the meat, my husband did not like my work of cooking very much. And finally I got to soft cream cheeses. You can use processed cheese with different flavors if you like them. My recipe for today is bacon flavored processed cheese.
I also made a filling from onions, carrots and oatmeal, and see for yourself what came out of it.
Ingredients:
minced meat – 500 g;
onion – 1 pc.;
carrot – 1 pc.;
egg – 1 pcs.;
processed cheese – 100 g;
oatmeal – about 1 cup;
flour for breading – 2-3 tbsp. l.;
salt, spices;
vegetable oil for frying.
How to cook meatballs.
To begin with, I defrosted the minced meat. I had beef in the freezer, so he just agreed.
She added cheese to the minced meat. I grated it, but it was so soft that you could just cut it into pieces.
I added chopped onions to this mass. I also grated a medium-sized carrot. Now I think that pumpkin can be used instead of carrots. Introduced one egg.
She mixed the mass, poured in the oatmeal. Once again mixed well. Salted everything to taste, added meat spices.
I used flour for breading. Formed balls and sprinkled them in flour.
I fried the balls on heated vegetable oil on both sides until a pleasant golden crust.
For lunch, she served balls with mashed potatoes. Fresh vegetables or salad are ideal.
