We prepare the dough. Add cubed butter or margarine to the sifted flour. If using butter, add a pinch of salt. Rub everything well by hand.

Then add water and knead a soft elastic dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and put it in the fridge for about 40 minutes.

Meanwhile we prepare the filling. Heat the butter and olive oil in a large pan, add the onion cut into small cubes and brown it slightly.

Wash the spinach leaves, dry them and cut them with a knife. Add to the onion and, stirring, stew for 3-4 minutes until the leaves “wither”. If all the spinach does not fit in the pan at once, add it in parts.

Then remove the pan from the heat and add grated or mashed feta cheese to the spinach. Mix everything thoroughly.

Roll out the cooled dough, put it in a mold and form the sides.

Spread the spinach and cheese on the dough and spread it evenly.

We are preparing the filling. Beat eggs (2 pcs.) with a whisk until smooth, add nutmeg, cream and mix. If desired, the filling can be salted, but a little, because Feta cheese is very salty.

Pour the egg-cream mixture over the spinach and cheese. Shake the cake a little so that the filling fills all the voids.
