I make yeast pie dough. The composition is very similar to Easter pastries. Poppy filling is probably classic for such a pie. I will say right away that I bake several such pies at once, so the composition of the products will be calculated for 2-3 pieces.

The peculiarity of this pie is its non-standard shape. It is done very easily, using ordinary scissors. But I will talk about this a little later, and now to the products we need for the pie.

Ingredients:
milk – 1 glass;
sour cream – 0,5 cups;
egg – 5 pc.;
sugar – 1,5 cups;
butter – 100 g;
yeast – 50 g;
flour – 1 kg;
poppy – 150 g;
a pinch of raisins;
salt – a little.

Preparation of poppy seed cake.

We knead the dough. To do this, it is necessary to dilute the yeast in warm milk. Add a little sugar and flour. Put in a warm place. Let’s make steam.

After 10-15 minutes, we will start adding the following ingredients. Beat the eggs separately with sugar. Prepare the sour cream, melt the butter, but not all. You will need 50 g for the dough. Add some raisins to the dough.

Knead the soft dough and let it rise. In time, it will take 40-50 minutes, depending on the strength of the yeast.

Steam the poppy, add a little sugar to it.

When the dough rises, we proceed to the formation of the pie. To do this, roll out the dough 3-4 mm thick. Grease it with butter. Sprinkle sugar and poppy seeds on top.

Roll into a roll. Let’s make incisions with scissors all over the roll, without cutting to the end. Let’s lay out our cake in a circle. Brush the top with an egg and bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
