boiled potatoes – 500 g;
wheat flour – 80 g;
potato starch with bitter – 2 tbsp. l.;
Parmesan or cheddar cheese – 20 g;
medium egg – 1 pc.;
breadcrumbs – 2 tbsp. l.;
oil – 500 ml;
spices: 0,5 tsp. salt and sweet pepper; 1/3 tsp. pepper
Homemade potato balls are an incredibly tasty option for a quick snack. The recipe is extremely simple, and the ingredients are cheap and readily available. Such balls can also be served for dinner.
The process of making potato balls with cheese.
- You will need 500 g of boiled potatoes. Grind the cooked potatoes in a meat grinder on the middle grate. Add about 0,5 cup of wheat flour, that is 80 g of flour. Also add 2 tbsp. l. potato starch with bitter. Beat 1 medium-sized egg and grate about 20 g of cheddar or hard Parmesan cheese. Also add the spices to the bowl.
Pour about 2 tbsp. l. breadcrumbs on a small plate. Tear off a small piece from the potato dough. Form small balls with a diameter of about 3,5 cm (smaller than a small walnut) in your hands. Roll each ball in breadcrumbs and place one next to the other on a plate or wooden board. Prepare all the potato balls in this way. I got 40 pieces.
Advice: for variety, you can also put a small piece of mozzarella cheese in each potato ball.
