There is something French, some magic in this recipe, despite its simplicity. The dish is prepared from elementary products: only potatoes and onions. But at the same time, it spreads an amazing aroma, and it looks so beautiful that it is worthy of any festive table.

I discovered this recipe quite by accident. According to the law of meanness, only the doctor forbade me to eat everything fatty and fried, as I immediately craved potatoes fried on a pan in butter.

I had to look for a compromise option that would be tasty and not too harmful. I remembered a long-postponed recipe and decided that it was time to try it. The result just amazed me!

Ingredients:
potatoes – 6 pcs. (medium in size);
onion – 3 pc.;
butter – 2-3 tbsp. spoons;
herbs de Provence (or other spices);
salt

The French way of cooking potatoes.

Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into thin plates. The thickness should be about 0,5 cm.

We do the same with onions. Can be cut into rings or half rings, depending on the size. Ideally, all potato and onion circles should be approximately the same.

We put our ingredients in a greased form, alternating onions and potatoes.
Sprinkle with salt and any spices you deem necessary.

I really like potatoes in combination with Provence herbs.

Melt the butter in the microwave (put it on for 30 seconds), and pour it over our dish.

We bake our potatoes for one and a half hours.

At the beginning, you can cover with foil, and then remove. It took me almost 2 hours to bake, during this time the crust became only slightly noticeable, although I did not cover it with foil. At the end of 10 minutes, she turned on the grill.
