Pumpkin jam. How to make pumpkin jam?

pumpkin – 1600 g;
small orange – 4 pcs.;
sugar – a full glass of 270 g;
lemon – 4 pcs.

Today we are preparing jam from pumpkin very quickly, simply and with special gloom. This jam turns out to be incredibly tasty and aromatic. Your whole family will like it.

The process of making pumpkin jam.

  1. Wash the pumpkin, remove the skin from it, remove all the seeds. Cut it into smaller pieces. In the end, you will have about 1100 g. Place the chopped pumpkin in a saucepan. Squeeze the orange and lemon juice here. The result should be about 450 ml of juice. If you have less, squeeze out more juice or add water.

Advice: You can also add apple pieces to the ingredients. It is necessary to peel 2-3 juicy apples, remove the seeds. Cut them into small pieces or grate them (use up to 400 g). You can also add grated apples to the chopped pumpkin and skip the citrus juice altogether. To the apples, you should add 1 cup of water to the pan.

Add a full cup of sugar. You can use regular sugar or add cane sugar. Stir the jam and cook uncovered for the last 15 minutes.

Note: even though the apples have been added to the pan, we don’t add more sugar. Along with sugar, you can also add 0,5 tsp. cinnamon or ginger in jam. You can also pour 2 tbsp. l. fresh ginger juice.

Pour pumpkin jam into jars and twist them. Do not fill them completely. Leave at least 1 cm of free space. Turn the jars upside down and leave for an hour. Jars can be additionally wrapped in a towel (for slower cooling), but this is not necessary.
