In July, the time for harvesting fruits and vegetables for the winter begins. Many fruits can only be closed for 2-3 weeks while they are actively fruiting. During this time, you need to have time to eat fresh fruits, freeze them a little in the refrigerator and make them preservation for the winter.

Some types of fruit ripen at the same time and you have to work hard so that there is jam and compote from fruits and berries in the winter. In July, I try to make jam from currants and raspberries.

For a while, I thought that if there is currant jam, it is not necessary to make raspberry jam. After all, there are many useful substances in currants, which means that even with a cold, it can be enough to prepare medicinal tea. Or with a cold, you can still drink tea with lemon.

But life has shown me that raspberry jam is indispensable, although not the main remedy for colds. I have convinced myself and my relatives that tea with raspberries is more effective for treating colds than tea with currants or lemon. Since then, I have decided that raspberry jam must be made in the summer.

Ingredients:
raspberries – 2 kg;
sugar – 4 kg.

The method of making raspberry jam.

The proportion of raspberries and sugar is 1/2 if the raspberries will be ground with sugar and there will be no heat treatment. To prepare the jam, wash the raspberries in water. Then sprinkle it with sugar and mix.

At the same time, crush the raspberry.

We pour the jam into pre-prepared 3-liter bottles, but do not add 5 cm to the top. The bottles are pre-washed well with soda and sterilized in boiling water with the neck down for 20 minutes. When the jam cools down, pour sugar to the top of the jar. Cover the jam with capron lids. We store the jam in the refrigerator.

Cans take up a lot of space in the refrigerator. In addition, it happens that mold appears in a jar with raspberries. Therefore, it is convenient for me to boil the raspberry jam for a few minutes and roll it into sterilized jars.

By the way, sugar in this case can be taken in a ratio of 1:1,5.

And it is better to take half-liter cans for jam.

You do not need to store such jam in the refrigerator.
