I love seedless cherry jam. I offer a recipe for making seedless cherry jam. And I will also tell you a very simple and easy way to remove pits from cherries, which my grandmother told me.

The process of making cherry jam.

To begin with, we collect or buy cherries. 1 kg will be obtained from approximately 1,5-2 kg of pitted cherries. We wash the berries.

Now let’s start the most time-consuming process — removing the stones from the berries. To remove the bones, we will need hairpins, you can wear gloves on your hands, as the fingers dye very well and are difficult to wash. We take a berry in one hand, a hairpin in the other. At the place where the pin bends, we pierce the berry in the place where the peduncle was. We hook the bone with a pin and pull it out with ease. It turns out quite simply and quickly.

We do this with all the berries.

We immediately put the processed berry in a pot in which we will cook the jam. Now add granulated sugar, shake together with the berries. You can gently mix without crushing the berries.

Cover with a lid and leave the berries with sugar to stand at room temperature for several hours. For example, I poured berries in the evening and cooked them in the morning. The cherry will give some juice.
Now let’s start cooking. We put the container with berries on medium heat. You can periodically stir. The berries will begin to give juice, and the sugar will melt. When the jam starts to boil, reduce the heat to a minimum. And cook for 15-20 minutes. Foam will form on the surface of the future jam, we remove it with a spoon.

Then remove the pan with jam from the heat. We leave it like this for an hour or two. Then we cook again for another 15 minutes. Then we clean again. It turns out three or four sets of 15-20 minutes. We check the readiness of the jam as follows. We drip a small drop of jam on the finger nail. If the jam does not roll off the nail, then the jam is ready.

We pour the jam into prepared jars. Delicious, aromatic seedless cherry jam is ready.
