Stuffed squid in the oven – a recipe with a photo

Today we will cook stuffed squid. This is a lean dish, it is perfect for dinner. It is very tasty and useful.

squid – 5 pcs.;
white cabbage – 250-300 g;
Bulgarian pepper – 1 pc.;
onion – 1 pc.;
carrot – 1 pc.;
basmati rice – 1 cup;
tomato sauce – 4 tbsp. spoons;
salt, pepper – to taste;
vegetable oil – 20-30 ml;
bay leaf – 2-3 leaves.

Cooking time — 60-80 minutes.

Cut the onion into half rings. We put a frying pan on the fire, pour vegetable oil and fry onions and carrots (grate them beforehand).

While onions and carrots are fried over medium heat, chop the cabbage. Now you need to salt the cabbage a little and mash it with your hands.

Now the cabbage can be sent to our onions and carrots. Let the vegetables simmer, stirring occasionally.

Our cabbage has already been simmering for about 15-20 minutes, so you can already cut the pepper and send it to the cabbage as well. Cut the pepper into any shape.

Pepper a little with ground black pepper and add 3-4 tablespoons of tomato sauce. We leave it all to stew under the lid for another 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, add dry washed basmati rice. Level and pour boiled water so that there is about 0,5 centimeters of water above the rice. Cover with a lid and simmer until the rice is ready.

Now let’s boil the squid. When the water boils, add salt, bay leaf and squid. As soon as the water boils, boil the squid for 3 minutes. We take it out and clean it from the film.

When the rice is cooked, then the filling can be mixed.

Now we fill each squid with the filling and place it vertically in a form, which should be lightly greased with oil beforehand. Cover with foil on top and send to the oven heated to 200 degrees for 15 minutes.
